Computer Practice Framework

After several weeks of engaging with the course content of my EDC3100 subject I find myself pondering on the CPF. This framework is used to scrutinize a particular application of ICTs in the planning phase. I like this model as it is simple.

It has three dimensions:
1. Quanity of ICT use as a percentage of learning time
2. Focus of ICT; what is planned to be achieved: IT, Learning tool or Other (filler or drill type activity), and
3. Mode - the affect on learning or process of learning.

After looking at other students posts about the CPF, I came across Selina Richard's post on reflecting on reflecting that discusses using the CPF to ask questions focusing on reflecting on our ICT integration. A very thoughtful use of the CPF.

One further point to consider is the link that this framework has to the EduDoggy. I imagine that by using the CPF to help plan lessons, it is one way to stop the tail from wagging the education dog; that is, to keep the learning before technology where it belongs.
